Yurt camp “Ayaz Qala,” Elik-Kala, Karakalpakstan

The Ayaz-Kala yurt camp is located in the Elikkala district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, on a picturesque steppe hill, near the ruins of the ancient fortress “Ayaz-Kala.” The distance to the nearest town of Buston is 30 kilometers, from Khiva – 100 km, from Urgench – 70 km, where the international airport is located, from Bukhara – 450 km, from Nukus – 150 km. On the one hand, the Sultanuaizdag ridges are visible, and on the other there is Lake Ayaz-Kul. Previously, it was possible to come here from Khiva and Urgench through the Berunia pontoon bridge over the Amu Darya River. And currently, a new, more convenient one has been built near the pontoon bridge, along which tourist buses already travel.

Yurt camp is located in the steppe zone, on the bosom of almost wildlife. The nearest city is 30 km. It is wide, which is very convenient for camel riding. From the campsite you can see Lake Ayazkul, where you can fish and swim, as well as ride a motorboat.

Yurts stand on a hill 30-40 meters high. The wind always blows and therefore there are almost no flies and mosquitoes. Near the campsite is the historical complex “Ayaz-Kala,” which consists of three fortifications. The ruins of the fortress “Ayaz-Kala 1” are located at a height of 60 meters, the ruins of “Ayaz-Kala 2” – at a height of 30 meters. The ruins of Ayaz-Kala 3 or the Ayaz-Kala Palace are located at a small height. The total area of ​ ​ the settlements is 9,000 square meters. meters. The settlements are well preserved and noticeable from afar.

Each yurt can accommodate from 8 to 15 people. There are 2 showers, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen with three hearths. Three meals a day.

There is an opportunity to make a fascinating trip on camels and visit the ruins of the ancient fortresses of Ayaz-Kala, ride a motorboat along Lake Ayazkul and listen to an exotic folklore concert performed by musicians from a neighboring village.

In residential yurts, the whole environment consists of thick cotton mattresses and blankets, which serve as both a bed and a seat, there are also copper jugs with water for washing and a stove.. A separate yurt serves as a dining room, where guests gather for a meal, and a kitchen with three hearths is also arranged separately. On the territory of the camp there are three stomachs: one with a canopy, and two without. You can relax on them in warm evenings and admire the sunset and stars. At your request, folklore performances are held in the camp in the evening, where music and songs of the Uzbek, Karakalpak, Kazakh, Turkmen and Russian peoples are heard.

The Ayazkala yurt camp receives tourists from March to November.
