This adventure tour to Aral Sea in Karakalpakistan offers you to witness planets worst environmental disaster, drying Aral Sea. Within last fifty years, the waters Aral retreated more than 200 km from its original shores leaving behind another huge salty desert ‘Aralkum’.

Itinéraire:
Early morning drive to former fishermen’s town Muynaq (390 km, 6 h.), which used to be situated on the shores of the Aral Sea. In Muynak have a look at a former port with abandoned ships in the sand – “Cemetery of ships”. Free lunch in Muynaq. Then visit Muynak History Museum with art exhibits of the Aral Sea history, about the Aral sea disaster. Dinner (included) and overnight in a yurt camp.
In the morning return to Nukus.On the way stop at legendary archaeological complex Mizdakhan. Among the best things to do in Nukus is the Savitsky Art Museum where you can easily spent a couple of hours. The museum hosts the world’s second largest collection of Russian avant-garde art and exposition of Karakalpak applied arts items. In the afternoon depart to Khiva (200 km, 4-5 h.). On the way visit archaeological monuments of ancient Khorezm: Toprakkala and Ayazkala dating back to the 3rd century A.D. Arrive in Urgench. Farewell Dinner with Khorezm folk dances (included) in open air restaurant with local red dry wine and Uzbek vodka. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast transfer to the airport for flight Urgench. End of the program.
