Itinerary: Samarkand (or Bukhara) – Nurata – Yurt camp – Samarkand
The Kyzylkum desert stretches east to the Syr Darya River occupying almost the entire territory of in ancient times called Maverannahr or Transoxiana. A thousand years ago the famous Silk Road from China to Europe passed through Kyzylkum desert. Only the ruins of ancient palaces and fortresses and destroyed abandoned canals recall the eventful history of the lands lying between the two rivers.
On our tour you will be able to go through the paths of ancient caravans, find yourself several centuries ago, when the only means of transportation was a « desert ship » – a camel. You will see the main « pearl of the desert » – Lake Aydarkul, where you can swim or fish; you will live in a real yurt and ride Bactrian camels (Camelus bactrianus).

Itinéraire:
Start from Samarkand or Bukhara – transfer by car to Nurata city. On the way stop to see ancient petroglyphs. Arrival in t Nurata. Sightseeing.
There are many sacred springs with crystal clear water around the town. The fish that lives in them is also considered sacred, it cannot be eaten. Visit other popular places: a cloister for dervishes, consisting of several rooms for privacy, an old mosque of the 16th century and the ruins of an ancient fortress which is considered a place where a garrison of Alexander the Great used to stay.
Lunch in a café which boasts the most delicious Tandir Kabob dish in Uzbekistan. Transfer by car or bus to a yurt camp 10 kilometers away from Aydarkul Lake. The camp in traditional style consists of 15 comfortable yurts. There are all amenities including hot showers and electricity. Yurts are richly decorated with handmade textiles. Multicolored patterns of carpets and woolen bands create a special festive atmosphere in the camp.
For dinner you will be offered national dishes, four types of salads, fruits and oriental sweets. Alcoholic drinks are available upon request. Dinner at the bonfire and romantic singing of the local singer Akin, cozy overnight stay under millions of stars – what could be more beautiful!?
Night in the yurt.
After an early breakfast, a camel trip through the Kyzylkum desert to Lake Aydarkul. There are a lot of fish in the lake, so you can enjoy beautiful fishing here. You can also enjoy beautiful views, get acquainted with local flora and fauna or collect healing herbs. On the shore we will have a picnic, for lunch – fresh-caught fried fish, several types of salads, fresh fruit and mineral water. Here you can relax, swim, sunbathe in the friendly sun and take many beautiful photos. Towards evening camel back riding to the yurt camp. Free time. Dinner at the fire. Night in the yurt.
Transfer to Samarkand.
