ITENARARY: SAMARKAND – NURATA – AYDARKUL LAKE – SENTOB – SAMARKAND
Trekking/hiking tour in Nurata mountains is a perfect leisure after a working week or a good addition to your tour in Uzbekistan. You will see mountains, alpine meadows, mountain flowers, rivers and lakes, beautiful panoramas of mountain ranges, mountain villages, gardens, shepherds with their flocks of sheep, horses on free pastures, vineyards, mountain village dwellers and many others. The are many unique natural rock formations to see on the walk, as well as some local village culture (agriculture, shepherding, traditional houses and daily life).
Included:
– Accomodation in Sentob guest house (full board);
– Transfers Samarkand – Nurata, Aydarkul Lake – Sentob – Samarkand, Comfortable car of tourist class with the air conditioner;
– Service of local English-speaking guide on Day 2;
– 1 donkey for day 2 (will carry equipment);
– Mineral water ( l liter per person), tea, coffee on daily use;
– Tourist taxes for accommodation;
The price of the tour does not include:
- Personal expenses and tips to the guide and driver
- Medical insurance
What to take with you?
- Comfortable clothes, trekking boots: (even in summertime), a swimwear;
- A headdress – a cap or a wide-brimmed hat;
- Sunglasses, sun cream, hygienic lipstick;
- A small lamp with a set of spare batteries;
- Personal hygiene means and individual first-aid kit;
- Passport, photo and video equipment, all in tight packing.
Cancellation fees:
- Cancellation prior 30 days – no charges apply;
- Cancellation prior 15 days – 50% charge of the tour price;
- Cancellation prior 7 days – 100% charge of the tour price;
Transport: comfortable transport of tourist class with the air conditioner.

- The cost of the tour will vary depending on the number of guests and the selected transport.
- The cost of the tour can be paid by bank transfer, credit card or other means agreed upon in advance when ordering the tour.
- Travel possible for groups starting from 2 people. The number of participants can reach up to 12 people
The yurt camp is located 10 km from the lake Aydarkul. Driver can take you there for swimming. In the yurt camp you can see camels and ride camels for 15 mins (included in the tour price)
Please note that on the 1st Day there will be no guide until you reach Sentob, since you will go by car. But our experienced driver will take you to the holy place in Nurata, and he will take you to a good restaurant for lunch. Actually, our driver will act as your guide too, but without speaking English.
Itinéraire:
After breakfast departure from Samarkand to Nurata at 8:00. (190 km, 3 h) with possible photo stop crossing nice villages. Arrival in Nurata before lunch. Visit old mosque with holy spring water and fish, the castle of Alexander the Great. Lunch at a local restaurant in Nurata (not included in price) at convenient time between 12:00 – 13:30.
After lunch Departure to Aydarkul lake (~70 km, 1 h ). Swimming in the lake. Visit the yurt camp 10 km from the lake to see camels. 15 – 20 min ride on camels. Continue to Sentob village at 16:00 – 17:00 (~110 km, 1.5 h ).
You will enjoy the drive through small villages, enjoy the scenery, make a stop to take photos of the fields and talk to farmers. It is a great opportunity to get acquainted with Uzbek people and their life in small villages. Arrival in Sentob at 17:00. Dinner in the guest house. Get to know Uzbek family and culture. Night in the guest house.
Breakfast in the guest house. Hiking in the mountains with a local English-speaking guide. Early start on a good path to a great mountain pass Gaukum (Н=1516м). In process of rise to travelers the panorama of the settlement of Sentob, gorge of the river Sentobsoy, tops of Ridge Nuratau and distant views of the lake Aydar. From the pass and not steep discent the path leads to wide southern hills of Nuratau Range. After 1,5 hours you will reach a small mountain lake Fozilmon (Н=1640м). Here you can have a rest, have lunch and continue to a top Kichik Fozilmon mountain (Н=1833м). You will take another road to return to Sentob. It will take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. From the lake travelers through the small pass go down a small pass steep serpentine in upper courses of the left inflow of the river Sentobsoy and on the old abandoned road to the settlement of Sentob. Dinner in the guest house. Night in the guest house.
Stay in Sentob (have a walk in the morning, even until lunch if you have time). Transfer Sentob – Samarkand. End of the tour.
