Study of the flowers of Uzbekistan while travelling in the magical country. Studying the flowers of Western Tien Shan.
Uzbekistan occupies a special place in Central Asia in its biodiversity. The flora of Uzbekistan has about 4,500 species of wild plants. More than 1,500 plant species grow in desert areas. There is also a wide variety of endemic plants of more than 500 species in reserves, national parks and botanical gardens. The main part of the desert of Uzbekistan is located on the expanses of the Kyzylkum desert. Particularly interesting zones in the Kyzylkum desert are the remains of mountain ranges (maximum height: no more than 750 meters) and vegetation in Tugai (local name of a dry river vegetation). Most of the flora of the mountain ranges are endemic plants in Central Asia. According to evolution, desert plants of Uzbekistan belong to the flora of the Iranian-Turan plateau.

Necessary things: shirt with long sleeves, sunglasses, sunscreen, sneakers or closed shoes.
Medications: personal medical kit.
Attention: accommodation in yurts from 2 to 6 people, on mattresses, on beds in the yurts. The beds are covered with bed linen, warm cotton blankets are issued. In spring and autumn there can be sharp temperature differences at night. Yurts are not heated up. Yurts are closed by doors, without locks outside, only on the hook from the inside. The camp has a shower with cold water and toilets. There are problems with the availability of water in the toilets. The nearest populated area is 5 km from the camp. Cell phone works in the camp.

Itinéraire:
International flight to Tashkent.
Arrival in Tashkent. Meeting and city transfer. Tashkent city, Tashkent Botanical Garden tour. In the evening, departure from Tashkent to Nukus. Arrival and transfer. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Transfer to the Badai – Tugai reserve in Karakalpakstan, in the lower reaches of Amu Darya, on the right bank. The reserve was created in 1975 to protect Bukhara deer and tree vegetation in Tugai along the lower reaches of Amu Darya.
Plants: Populus pruinosa, Salix, Tamarix, Eleagnus orientalis, E. Angustifolius and others. Flora diversity with more than 300-350 species. Overnight stay at a hotel in Nukus.
Transfer to Khiva. Visit Khiva – mysterious city located in the heart of the Khorezm oasis. Night at a hotel in Khiva.
Plants: Artemisia turanica, A. diffusa, Eremurus korolkovii, Tulipa buhseana, T. Lehmanniana, T. borszczovii, Allium caspium, Rhinopetalum karelinii, Iris tenuifolia, I. longiscapa, Anemone petiululosa, Arnebia decumbens, Delphinium, Astragalus kysylkumii, Acanthophyllum borszczowii. After a trip through the Kyzyl Kum Deserts we reach Bukhara. Overnight in hotel of Bukhara.
Bukhara… charming and unique! This is a historic city where you can walk through narrow streets, squares, madrasahs, domes with small shops of artisans. Overnight stay in hotel in Bukhara.
After a trip to the desert steppe, arrival in Aydarkul. Evening around the fire with traditional songs and music from Kazakh singer.
Plants: Ferula foetida, Iris songarica, Tulipa affinis, Tulipa korolkovii. Night in the yurt.
Sentob and Uhum: these picturesque stone houses located in green canyons and mountain slopes fascinate with their mystery. Lives in Sentob is very simple, here you can enjoy silence and peace and relax from the city bustle. The environment, vast landscapes and friendly locals, mainly consisting of Tajiks, who are especially close to nature. Our walks will take place along convenient and light paths. Nurata Reserve, founded in the western Jizzak region on the northern slope of the Nuratau Range, was created to preserve the population of rare animal species and more than 600 plant species. We will spend the night and next morning in Uhum village.
Transfer to Samarkand. On the way we will look at the surrounding gardens. Overnight in the hotel of Samarkand.
Zeravshan National Reserve was founded in 1975 near Samarkand. It is located in the area of Bulungur and Jomboy, in the land of the Zeravshan River. Overnight stay in hotel in Samarkand.
Departure by fast train Afrosiab to Tashkent (320 km, 2h 40 min.). Night at a hotel in Tashkent.
Departure in the morning to Chimgan – 90 km northeast of Tashkent in the foothills of Tien Shan. A trip to Koksu, Chatkal and Pskem valleys, to the lakes. Picnic. Return. Dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Plants: Allium tschimganicum, Anemone prostracta (Anemonastrum prostractum), Cerasus erythrocarpa, Colchicum luteum, Corydalis ledebouriana, Crocus alatavicus, Eremurus regelii, Ferula tenuisecta, Fessia (Scilla) puschkinioides, Gagea filiformis, Gagea turkestanica, Gymnospermium albertii, Iris orchioides, Juniperus seravschanica, Fritillaria (Korolkowia) sewerzowii, Paeonia hybrida, Pedicularis olgae, Phlomoides speciosa, Prunus divaricata, Rhinopetalum stenanterum, Spiraea hypericifolia, Thermopsis alterniflora, Tulipa bifloriformis, Tulipa kaufmanniana, Ulugbekia tschimganica.
Return to Tashkent. Continuation of the tour. In the evening visit Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. Navoi. Overnight stay in a hotel in Tashkent.
Transfer to the airport.
