Zaamin National Park is located 240 km from Tashkent on the northern slope of the western part of the Turkistan Range of Pamir-Alay mountain system. It was established in 1976. Mountain ecosystems and relict juniper (archa) forests are protected in this unique place. The protected area occupies a territory of 31,500 hectares. It has an interesting landscape with a strongly marked mountain chain decreasing from east to west and covering the middle-mountain and high-mountain zone of the ridge at an altitude of between 1760 and 3500 m above sea level.
At present Zaamin Natural Park is a perfect place for ecological tourism and active outdoor recreation. It will fascinate you with its bright colors and picturesque landscapes and will certainly remain the brightest and most pleasant memory in your life.
Zaamine is an environmentally friendly area that has preserved its pristine beauty and has unique flora and fauna. Zaamin Reserve is located in Jizzak region of Uzbekistan between Samarkand and Tashkent. It is known from history that Zaamin was a part of one of the oldest regions of Central Asia – Ustrushana – lying between historical regions of Sogd, Baktriya, Fergana and Chach. According to archaeological sources, this land was cultivated more than two thousand years ago (II-I centuries BC). During excavations the remains of settlements of more than 2,500 years old were found here. Translated from Tajik, “Zaamin” means « arable land » because in ancient times this area was famous for the fertility of the soil.
There are all necessary infrastructure facilities on the territory of Zaamin National Park including recreation centers and guest houses provided with electricity, gas and water. Convenient approach roads enable us to organize tours all year round. It is possible to organize hiking mountain tours – starting from day trips to longer tours of 3-4 days, horse tours, hiking routes, games and competitions on orienteering, as well as easy ski tours in winter.
Come and taste the aroma of wonderful local zira and tandir kebab meat cooked under the branches of the fragrant juniper tree! Make sure to taste this signature dish in one of the cafes or teahouses near the entrance to the National Park.

Itinéraire:
Programme
07:30-10:30 – transfer Tashkent – Zaamin National Park (262 km);
10:30-13:00 – start exploring Zaamin National Park with a guide;
13:00-14:00 – lunch in a national summer chayhana (teahouse) under a 700-hundred-year-old walnut tree with two trunks separated by a streamlet. For lunch – the signature dish – Tandir Kabob.
14:00-17:00 – continuation of the tour inside the National Park, visit to a water spring. Hiking along the mountain slope surrounded by relict juniper trees. It is a great place for taking photos of beautiful natural attractions.
17:00-17:30 – visit a small local bazaar. If you wish you can buy here mountain honey, spices and medicinal herbs collected in the mountains.
17:30-20:30 – return to Tashkent transfer Zaamin National Park – Tashkent.

Day 2: Zaamin – Tashkent
Breakfast (kuk samsa and hot bread with fresh butter). Hiking in the mountains of Zaamin. Lunch picnic in the mountains. Continuation of the tour of the reserve. Return to Tashkent.

Tour #2: Mysterious Cave
Duration: 1-2 days.
Itinerary: Tashkent – Jizzak – Peshagor village – Zaamin – Tashkent.
Best time to tour: April – October.
Description: From Tashkent to Jizzak, Peshagor and Zaamin – by car or minibus. To the cave on foot or on horseback. Rest in nature and lunch cooked over an open fire.
Equipment: day backpack, rain cape, mountain boots or sneakers, mountain walking stick; thermos with drink, jacket, sunglasses, cream and cap. Flashlight in case of late return, warm clothes (depending on weather). Medicine: personal first-aid kit.
Documents: passport or identity document.

Day 1: Jizzak-Peshagor
Transfer Tashkent – Jizzak. Meeting in Jizzak – Tour of the city in bus or car (Jizzak Historical Museum, Jizak Pedagogical Institute, monument to Sharaf Rashidov, craftsmen centre in a madrasah. Transfer to Peshagor. Lunch at a guesthouse. Visit the local mill, baking of traditional bread. Return to the guesthouse. Cooking masterclass of national Uzbek dish – plov. Open-air bonfire, folklore group.
Day 2: Peshagor-Zaamin
Breakfast. In the morning a ride on arba cart to a holy place (cave). Return to the guest house. Lunch. Move to Duoba guesthouse. Visit local crafsmen and walk to a waterfall. Taste traditional dish Beshbarmak, drink Kumis and listen to the tunes of dombra in the guest house. Return to Tashkent.
Tour # 3: Fishing in Zaamin
Tour duration: 3-4 days
Programme:
Day 1:
Transfer from Tashkent to Zaamin National Park. Lunch in Zaamin. Excursion and inspection of fishing grounds. Accommodation in a cottage or a tent camp. Dinner, free time. Rest.
Day 2:
Fishing at sunrise. Breakfast. Morning fishing. Lunch, rest. If desired, a horse tour of the fascinating routes of the Zaamin National Natural Park (additional fee), the height of the route above sea level 2000-4000 m. Fishing. Dinner on the lakeside by the fire. Rest.
Day 3:
Fishing at sunrise. Breakfast. Morning fishing. Lunch, rest. If desired – car ride on mountain areas (additional fee), altitude above sea level 1500-3500 m. Fishing. Dinner. Rest.
Day 4:
Fishing at sunrise. Memory photos. Breakfast, prepare for departure. Return to Tashkent. Lunch upon arrival in Tashkent city.
