Central Asia is a great place for a real bike tourist. Cross the red sands of the Kyzylkum desert exploring on the way the majestic cities of Uzbekistan: Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand.
Everyone can take part in cycling but you need to have good physical fitness and experience in long-distance cycling. On average you will travel no more than 70 km per day. However, the program can be adapted depending on your physical capabilities and local conditions. You will travel 720 km along the road rarely visited by cycling tourists, see the real sandy desert and the steppes scorched by the sun.
In September the temperature during the day in the desert does not exceed + 30- 35 degrees. It would seem that it is hot, but the wind constantly blows and the heat is endured quite easily. The hottest time of the day is between 11 am to 4 pm. The lowest temperature before dawn varies from 8 to 10 degrees, but as the sun rises the temperature also rises very quickly. In Uzbekistan you will experience real hospitality of local people towards guests. They will give you fruit and bread, offer their help during your travel.
Kyzylkum Desert Route

Arrival in Urgench airport. Transfer to Khiva (35 km), hotel accommodation and rest. Night in Khiva.

Transfer to the beginning of the route to the village of Chukurak with a visit to the fortress of Ayaz Kala. Distance on Auto – 370 km. Overnight in a tent camp.

Bike ride 4 km to the exit on the Uchkuduk – Navoi – Kokcha track. Distance: 91 km, 6 hours. Camp.
Bike ride 94 km, 6 hours. Guest house.
Bike ride 70 km, 5 hours. Tent camp.

50-70 km of cycling per day. No particular technical difficulties except the altitude difference if you are in VTC. Most of the time you will ride a bike on the roads, bike paths, shared lanes and some secondary roads.
Luggage
Your luggage will be transported by bus. You will receive your luggage at the hotel. You can take a small bag or backpack during the bike tour.

Food
Meals cooked in guest house or in a local restaurants. The cuisine of Central Asia is generally healthy, quite varied and you will often have the opportunity to enjoy healthy traditional meals. Be aware that mutton is an important part of the local gastronomy and is often prepared in the form of small skewers (shashliks), kebabs and ravioli. We find some flavors of the Middle East and even the Mediterranean and the influences are Chinese, Russian, Persian, Oriental, etc.
Water
Mineral water for bike days included (3 L per person per day) is provided. For other days, you will easily find bottled mineral water in the shops and restaurants in the cities.
