Morning transfer to airport for flight Tashkent – Nukus. Start the tour in SUVs. Nukus is a desert oasis surrounded by 4 deserts – Kyzylkum, Karakum, Ustyurt and Aralkum. The Aralkum is a desert that has appeared since 1960 on the seabed once occupied by the Aral Sea. Drive to Ustyurt Plateau. The Ustyurt plateau is the most mysterious and least explored area in Uzbekistan. Enjoy wonderful view of the rocks in the canyon of the Ustyurt Plateau. Visit the village of Kubla-Ustyurt where families are engaged in camel breeding. Continue to Sudochye Lake where many migratory birds nest. Along the way we will find archaeological traces left by the ancient peoples who lived on this plateau. Visit to the abandoned village of Urga – the first Russian settlement in Khorezm. Lunch (lunch boxes).
Continue to the Aral Sea. Along the road you will see fantastic landscapes with dramatic canyons. Reaching the Aral Sea by evening, accommodation in a yurt camp near the water, admire the colors of the setting sun reflected in the water and the delightful nature of the Aral Sea.
Here the Ustyurt Plateau breaks off to the surrounding plain with steep and hard-to-reach ledges – cliffs of about 150 meters high forming a network of magnificent canyons. All this beauty was formed when the waters of the Aral Sea washed the limestone rocks of the plateau. The plateau falls in cliffs but nevertheless, there are several places where you can move to the sea. And here is the water: turquoise, infinite and similar to a mirage. If you would like to have plunge into the warm sea you will have to walk through several scores of meters of muddy shallow water. The water in Aral is very salty. In fact you can float on it as in the Dead Sea, it is impossible to sink in it. You need to swim very carefully: if water falls into the eyes it becomes very painful.
Dinner prepared at the campfire. Night at the yurt camp.
