Chimgan is Tashkent’s favourite weekend getaway. Chimgan mountains area is a perfect place for both active recreation and quiet relaxation. After just 2- hour drive from the city you will find yourself in the mountains filled with picturesque landscapes, diverse flora and fauna and richest natural paints. It is a peaceful place for inspirational travel experiences and a great opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and plunge into the charming sounds and beauty of nature.
Tour program:
At 07:30 leave Tashkent to Chimgan by a car or a bus. Transfer to the mountains of Western Tien Shan through picturesque villages and fields (100 km, 1.5-2 hours) to Chimgan and Beldersai. If the cable car operates on this day in the Beldersay gorge, (the distance is more than three km) you can ride to the top of Mount Kumbel (2400 m), where the longest ski track in Uzbekistan is located.
Rest, relax in the mountains. Horseback riding is available. Easy walk in the mountains 1.5 – 2 km (special training is not required). Time for a snack –picnic. Transfer to Charvak reservoir, surrounded by green slopes of mountains. Swimming, relaxing on the beach. The lake, which coastline is 100 kilometers, like a blue gem, is framed by a chain of mountain ridges. Descend by car along the serpentine road to the restaurant “Bochka.” In this picturesque place with amazing atmosphere, magnificent petroglyphs were saved – cave paintings of the late Stone Age. And four ancient chinars give in spring and summer more than five thousand square meters of shadow. Here you can taste Uzbek, Russian, European cuisine and relax near a mountain stream.
If you come in winter you can enjoy the popular ski resorts. From December to February the whole area is covered with snow. For fresh air and mild climate Chimgan is called “Uzbek Switzerland.” Clean mountain air, mild winters, long ski slopes, stable sunny weather favor good rest.
Return to Tashkent in the evening. (Accommodation in the hotels of Beldersai, Chimgan or Charvak resort complexes can be arranged if you wish.)
