Itinerary: Tashkent – Baisun – Termez – Tashkent
You will go to the south of Uzbekistan, to the Surkhandarya region. We will visit amazing places: Baisun and Termez. Beyond the Gissar Mountains is the Baisun Mountain Region. You will get acquainted with the world of ancient villages with original traditions and rites of local people, and their unique way of life. This is the territory of the ancient Greco-Bactrian kingdom. In Termez you will visit the famous archaeological museum and see other attractions of the southernmost city of Uzbekistan.
Tour program:
Transfer to Tashkent railway station. Departure from Tashkent to Baisun by night train at 19:35. The path by rail to Baisun – the most picturesque region, included by UNESCO in the list of masterpieces of the oral and intangible heritage of mankind, runs through the unique beauty of mountains of Baisuntau. Here the train will rise to a height of 1800 m above sea level, revealing breathtaking landscapes in front of you. Overnight in 4-berth compartments. Breakfast in the train car.
Arrival in the village of Darband early in the morning (06:00). Here you will be greeted by a driver and guide who will accompany you during the tour. Visit the village of Darband. Lunch in a local cafe located in a picturesque gorge. Move to Baisun (40 km). Walk in the villages of Baisun, accompanied by a guide. Overnight in the guest house in Baisun.
Early breakfast. Visit the Greek-Macedonian fortress Kurganzol (4th century BC). Ethnographic museum. A trip to the healing source of Omonhona – its mineral water is believed to cure many diseases. Visit the grave of a Saint Hodja Sultan Vali.
Lunch in a local house. At 16:00 transfer to Termez. Hotel accommodation. Rest. Night at the hotel of Termez.
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion in Termez – the southernmost city of Uzbekistan. Feel the special atmosphere of this city together with a guide who will tell about its history, will guide you through ancient excavations. Visit to the archaeological museum. Al-Hakim at – Termezi Mausoleum. Next you will get acquainted with Buddhist archaeological sites – Zurmala stupa, Karatepa and Fayaztepa.
After the excursion transfer to the station for the night train Termez – Tashkent. Departure at 18:50. Arrival in Tashkent at 08:14 on the next day. Transfer to hotel or airport.
